Red Tea - Evening Sky (Purple Tea)

Evening Sky is a very special Dian Hong tea, made from old-growth trees, ranging in the hundreds of years old. This tea comes from natural, seed-propagated “eco-arboreal” gardens. It is the “wild purple” varietal, also known as Camellia Assamica var. dehongensis (whereas most teas are Camellia Sinesis). Their buds are purple to maroon in color. That's why we also call this tea a purple tea.

This tea is fruity and flowery, complex and up-lifting. 

Origin: Mangshi, Dehong prefecture of Yunnan, China

Brewing method: leaves in a bowl, sidehandle

Brewing tips: Like other red tea, the water does not need to be too hot. This is why it is also a perfect tea to do leaves in a bowl.
