Shou Puerh - Dragonheart (1990s)

Dragonheart is a late 1980s/early 1990s “little green” shou puerh brick of 7638. The factory codes of past days were internal codes that have since become famous.

76 - The first digits refer to the year the recipe was created (1976 in this case). This is not the age of the tea, merely the year they started producing this blend. Incoming tea was much more consistent back then and so recipes could be maintained from year to year.

3 - The third digit is the average size or “grade” of the leaves from one to nine. Three means a higher grade, with more buds.

8 - The last digit tells us which factory made the cake. Eight means either the Haiwan factory or the Long Sheng factory.

Dragonheart is very well stored with a delightful aged flavor, with hints of camphor and herbs. It has a grounding and deep energy that lasts all day.
